He still does yard work, but not for as long at one time.

I don’t want to tell you how long it took for him to learn his new riding lawn mower when the old one gave up the ghost. We tried suggesting a services, but “he’s fine.”

They do get stubborn and fiercely independent when they get up there in years. I feel for that; they don’t want to feel helpless or incapable.

My dad (R.I.P.) was like that until he drove his riding mower into a ditch at the edge of his property and got stuck when he was 85.

We hired a lawn service for him then.
