So, we were re-watching the first 2 DVDs of “The Lord of The Rings” and we got to the scene where the Fellowship was starting out on the river and each of the characters was remembering the gifts given him by the Lady Galadriel.
It got to Frodo and the camera showed him riding in the canoe with Aragorn paddling behind him. He was holding his gift in his hand and gazing at it. The Lady Galadriel’s voice-over was saying, “May it be a light to you when all others have failed.”
Suddenly I imagined Frodo fumbling the vial and dropping it into the river, then looking sheepishly around and hoping nobody noticed.
It was all I could do not to laugh out loud, which would have gotten me a SERIOUS cold shoulder from Mrs. ArGee.
Someone said it was Peter Jackson meets Mel Brooks.
Yes. Yes, I not only can see the scene as you envisioned it, but I can imagine the Cold Shoulder and finger-to-the-lips “Shhh!” Yeah. I get it! I also love it!
“Oops!”
“So what happened to Lady Galadriel’s gift, Frodo?”
“Gift? What gift? Did she give gifts to people?”
