We would get another cat, but at our age there’s a chance it would outlive us. We worry that they might not get the best care if that happened.

Then there’s my DH’s sister who died and left her condo in Brentwood, plus $800,000, to her two cats. The trustee could reside in the house caring for the cats until the last cat died. That was 20 years ago. We figure the trustee, a young single woman, scoured the shelters to the find look-alikes.

Well, if some additional rescue cats got to live the High Life in their last years, I could live with it.

Not my money and really I'd feel strange spending cash left to me by others.

Grandma and I have our Treasure in the happy smiles of our children, grandkids and now their children. The property and money we may leave is just "stuff" by comparison.

my cat now may outlive me, but so many animals don’t have any happiness or love in their life. He had obviously been abandoned, but he has a good life now and he has love. Who knows how long any of us will live?
