Putin is defending Russia from being encircled by NATO, if NATO is not aggressive then why does it exist?
Absurd! Were you born yesterday? Educated in a liberal university? Or by Moscow? Where or where did you swallow such propaganda? The only reason NATO exists, which its nations have been reluctant to fund, is due to the manifest threat of Russia. Likewise the US has been fighting proxy wars against Russia since 1950, and Russia is the main reason such a large US military has been needed.

If Putin actually wants to see NATO spend even less on its arms then it needs to cease invading countries, but instead under Putin it has only manifested that Russia is a threat to its neighbors. Thus either Putin is stupid or he really wants to be Vlad the invader, conqueror of countries, and NATO had better increase its spending.
