I think what’s actually going to happen is more like this:
SOON _ One major but non-nuclear hit on a major U.S. or European city as a warning shot.
SOON AFTER THAT _ Russians see that they are facing the countdown to oblivion, and while the diplomatic storm rages over the hit, Russian military and political elites remove Putin and announce a cease-fire in Ukraine.
WITHIN THREE MONTHS _ Russian forces retreat in a more or less orderly fashion to Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk. Zelensky negotiates with the new Russian leadership to allow referenda in those three regions in 2023 to decide sovereignty, with international observers.
WITHIN SIX MONTHS _ NATO invites Russia, Belarus and Ukraine to consider joining NATO in 2023 or 2024.
Possible wild card _ return of Christ.
