#1 - Leftist, woke, environmentalists in the organization(s) working on the Mars mission are radical about sterility of the project to avoid "infecting" "life" on Mars. They are building redundant systems to insure complete sterility imperiling the viability of the project.
#2 - A lot of parts procurement for the project is totally screwed up costing huge amounts of money over what is necessary due to sourcing all of the "politically correct" companies run by minorities of every kind and that is ALSO causing delays. Go for it.
