Gas doesn’t store well, it stinks, it’s messy. Plus here, can’t be done in the summer when it’s fire season.
Better to go with diesel for storage, but be sure to add some biocide to prevent growth of filter-plugging fungus.
As long as it’s cool and air can circulate around the cans it’ll be fine for quite a while unless it’s got alcohol in it.
matter of fact, i’ve got some real old stuff I’ve kept as “parts warshin’” gas. I’ll try to remember to filter a pint or so and run it in one of my old B&S’s this weekend. I’ll use the same engine I got to run on E85...
