My friends I'm in deep doo doo. YoutubeTV does not broadcast ABC or ESPN and I'm having a hard time finding the local channels on my Firestick.
I wait all year for these 2 nites as I am a draftnick, meaning no life. My only alternative is to stay in a Motel 6 for 2 nites. I can't think of any alternative so thanks in advance if anyone has an answer.
Local sports bar?
Yeah..I like FuboTV
Sports bar? No no no. Too long. It’s like watching paint dry. You wait for your own team to pick. That’s 31 waits.
If YouTube TV has the NFL Network, it will have draft coverage.
I am in the same boat, but have decided that radio or a local sports bar will be my avenue Thursday evening.
Friday evening and Saturday will conflict with work, so it looks like the phone will be set on a local draft option.
Found it! FUBO TV. Free for 1 week. I may continue as YoutubeTV will wait until football season to settle their differences with ABC/ESPN. Stupid.
YoutubeTV has ESPN and NFL Network both of which will be airing the draft.
*I’m just curious on why the NFL draft is suddenly a media event that regular people want to watch.*
Sam-way ahead of you. In the 70’s it was done on a Tuesday morning 7am PST. By 9am I’d go to school knowing the first 5 selections-only 5. In those days a lot of men would mysteriously call in sick for work on that particular day. The NFL took a while to know they had something. Then it was 3 rounds on Saturday and the rest on Sunday. Whole weekend spoken for. Then they sold out and went commercial like some rock stars.
1st round Thursday. Rounds 2 & 3 on Friday, all prime time. Lower the minutes between picks(long overdue). Move it out of NYC(closer to the fans). Milk the interest and the junkie follow. It’s now over the top but it is what it is.
Just to put the economics in here. The biggest cost of a cable bill is ESPN. Disney uses it to charge the highest prices as well as shoehorning other ABC content into the cable package.
The NFL is very important to cable, TV networks and advertising in general. Men really only watch TV reliably for football. Yes they watch other sports and some TV shows. But not nearly as reliably as football. Women may complain that men watch TV but the research shows that men don’t watch TV like women do. And if you take away football its not even close.
So, football gets viewers to pay for cable. And cable pays for MSNBC and CNN. They also force you to keep watching the networks. Thats why I never pay a cable bill. I get ATT in one house for internet only and I get spectrum in the other house, also internet only. Life beyond football exists. And there is no reason to pay huge amounts for tickets and jerseys either. Your property taxes pay for stadiums which is ridiculous too.
There are many free sports sites. I use NFLHunter.com during the season. Perhaps they are broadcasting it.
the NFL is for losers. Go stay at Motel 6. They’ll even leave the light on for you.
Don’t tell your Mom you watch NFL—she still thinks you play piano in a whorehouse.
Interesting. I was a big NFL fan for a while but never really got into the draft aspect of it. I’ll never forget when Tom Brady was picked in the 6th round however. Probably the best draft steal in NFL history!
“ YoutubeTV does not broadcast ABC or ESPN”
Uhhh mine has both. Not sure what you’re talking about
You can buy a monthly subscription to ESPN plus and watch their programming in any streaming device, PC, Tablet, Phone, Roku etc. At the end of the month cancel or deactivate it.
So you’re a Bungals fan. Me too. They won’t even pick until close to 11pm or later. Read about it in the morning.
I seem to recall seeing 27th Lancers waaaay back in the day.
(Troopers also?)
You should just become a Rams fan, that way the draft isn’t an issue.
now thats funny...Dr Sivana...i am a lifelong ram fan since early 60’s
Probably a few. When I marched (Spirit of Atlanta, 83-86), we did that USFL show, and the National Anthem for a couple of Braves games.
