Actually 5 deferments and the 6th was a draft classification of 1-Y - only draft in case of national emergency - for a medical condition of "teenage asthma" which never was mentioned in his biographies of his teenage years. In fact, he was considered and "outstanding" high school athlete.

Joe must have a truckload of deferments for.them. I bet he even had a Rescue Deferment when he was a lifeguard.
