love that quote. Never heard it before.

Pondering:
Q tells us that negativity feeds the evil forces and encourages us to stay positive, prayerful, and unified. I wonder if Trump Rallies are his way of gathering many thousands of people together for a collective positive, healing hour? To fuel the powers of good.

I recall that Jesus Himself couldn’t work a miracle without the positive, optimistic faith and belief of the person to be cured.
———

I think you are correct about the human President Trump inspiring other humans at a rally.

However, Jesus does not need our faith to perform any miracle. He is not hindered by anything a mere human does or does not do. Miracles are pretty much a teaching tool used to show the power, glory and love of God on those who trust in him. Miracles were never just for the receiver, but for those around them that they may also learn to trust God.

Mark tells us that Jesus and his disciples visited his hometown on a Sabbath. He went into the synagogue and started teaching in a way that stunned his listeners. People were shocked that this man they had known since childhood had the audacity to say the things he did, as if he had the authority and credentials to do so. It was offensive.

That reception impacted Christ’s “works” outside the synagogue:

He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their lack of faith. (Mark 6:5–6)

I’m also thinking of this:

And Jesus said: Who is it that touched me? And all denying, Peter and they that were with him said: Master, the multitudes throng and press thee; and dost thou say, who touched me? And Jesus said: Somebody hath touched me; for I know that virtue is gone out from me. And the woman seeing that she was not hid, came trembling and fell down before his feet and declared before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was immediately healed. But he said to her: Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole. Go thy way in peace.

Both Luke and Mark say He felt power go out of him ... seemingly unbidden. It seems this woman’s positive and optimistic faith was able to tap into Christ’s power without his assistance. I’m just saying that it could be that sometimes our positive optimism is a necessary and collaborative element in miraculous events.
