My pastor put it bluntly at the service yesterday. Has any other historical occurrence ever convinced so many people to believe and had the staying power of 2000 years, like it happened yesterday? Has any book been around 2000 years and still published today?

Yes, there are other "revealed faiths" with various "holy scriptures" purporting to describe alleged historical occurrences that predate the events described in the New Testament.

And yes, there are also other "holy texts" far older than the Christian Bible that are still published today: E.g., Vedas, the Upanishads, the Purānas, the Mahābhārata, the Rāmāyana, and the Āgamas.

To put it bluntly: Only an ignoramus would assert otherwise.

I have never heard of any of those books but I have known about the Bible all of my life. I am a new congregant so I’m still learning.
