What causes that "cupping"?
Is it fixable or do they need to be replaced?

I think its caused by moisture in the air getting into the wood during the rainy season and then the planks drying out during the dry season. Replacing the floorboards with a wood composite should fix the problem and prevent it from recurring but check with a pro first.
