Nathans dogs have over the years gotten corporatized. The current ones you buy in the supermarket are nothing like the ones from 30,40,50 years ago. Do not like.
I agree, they’re nothing special at all.
Nathan’s claims their original recipe is the same since 1916. Maybe, but something’s changed dramatically by my taste. And seemingly few who actually know consider them kosher these days.
Abeles and Heyman’s seems to be the kosher dog of choice for those who emphasize kosher. Comparatively pricey, as might be expected.
Tried Nathans once to see what all the fuss was about. Never again! They were slimy.
