I got to most MLB ballparks over the years and could not believe that brats weren’t universally available. Outrageous!

Nathans dogs have over the years gotten corporatized. The current ones you buy in the supermarket are nothing like the ones from 30,40,50 years ago. Do not like.

I agree, they’re nothing special at all.

Same here. There are better dogs but at a buck a pound they’re pretty good.

We buy the quarter-pound Nathan’s Frank’s at Sam’s, and treat them as a meat item on a plate dinner. Really a “good piece of meat” along with some veggies, mac’n cheese, etc. Either cook them on the grill or fry’em in a pan.

That was an excellent tour, hot dogs are a favorite in my family ever since I was a child. I’ve lived many places and tried a few of the ones on that list. I’m going to have to try a few of those that are new to me.

Tobin’s was always good around here but they’re gone from the area now. I miss their stuff.

Dogs can be used many ways. I like to take one, chop it up into small pieces
add salt/pepper, hot sauce, onion, molasses, put in skillet for a couple minutes
then add an egg, stir and finish cooking then place on a piece of toast with
peanut butter or strawberry jelly and a slice of cheese on top.

The moose hot dogs that we had made at 10th & M Lockers in Anchorage were the best ever.

Nathan’s claims their original recipe is the same since 1916. Maybe, but something’s changed dramatically by my taste. And seemingly few who actually know consider them kosher these days.
Abeles and Heyman’s seems to be the kosher dog of choice for those who emphasize kosher. Comparatively pricey, as might be expected.
