I actually started worrying about this 1984 Newspeak back when hate crime legislation was passed. If you killed someone that’s the crime whether you hated them, loved them, or they just pissed you off. Yet a person’s thoughts, feelings are now incorporated into the crime.
Now they just flat out started a truth ministry and God only knows what’s next.
I agree with you. I remember when some journalist was cutting W Bush for not charging the guy that dragged a black guy to death with a hate crime. Bush said the guy got the death penalty, the harshest punishment. I thought it made her look stupid.
And I’ve seen cases where they purport hate on a suspect without evidence.
