Proves NOTHING!
Could still have all been pre-arranged.
Regards,
Occam’s razor is quickly removing the conspiracy theories in this case as being plausible.
You could say 9/11 was pre-arranged, but that would take more proof than to say it’s not. Same thing here. At this point at least one side would have to claim fake to go with that theory. So far the only faker side isn’t involved but just the ol’ conspiracy stuff.
Smith had time as he walked down the runway to consider changing his intentions - instead he chose to make a spectacle of himself by belting the speaker - and going back to his seat yelling profanties.
It was a ridiculous display - and Chris Rocks ability to sustain professionalism was steller - should get an Oscar for sustaining his cool.
agreed- the academy of awards could be doing it to boost ratings for next year- I’m just very suspect of hollywierd and their antics- and all their ‘reality shows’ that are staged to the max-
I have no idea what movie he starred in. But, that speech... oh, brother. These actors take themselves way too seriously. They pretend for a living. They memorize and repeat lines other people write. They earn millions, just for being photogenic and popular. But they think they’re so important.
It looked like a stunt to increase ratings & viewership for celebrity awards programs. I think it is more of a stunt now that Chris Rock declines to press charges.
Whether a faked or a real incident it was in poor taste. The bald joke directed at Smith’s wife and then Smith’s assault & screaming profanities on tv. Smith went on to win an Oscar, too bad he ruined the entire experience for himself.
Can you imagine what kind of privilege these celebrities have where they can walk on a stage during a televised program and assault another human being and get away with it? No I didn’t watch the Oscars. Just read about this and went to watch the clip. Such utter degeneracy.
You may not understand, but what helps ratings are promos before the event, such as, Tune in and watch Beyonce on Sunday night at the Oscars.
But to have a secret attack on Chris Rock while introducing Best Documentary, that no one knows it's going to happen is not the recipe to increase ratings, particularly near the end of the show. And no, the producer would never have approved such a stunt.
I kinda meant that when I said the only way for it to help the show was with ratings. Just some possible idea for what the ones I’m arguing with might think. But later I say no, it can’t be ratings either cause of your points.
OK OK we know you think it’s a fake.
The whole incident was bizarre and off-putting - but it still may have been staged.
My number-one argument for it being staged? If it had been spontaneous (authentic), Chris Rock would have handled it far better. He would have MILKED it for all it was worth.
Chris Rock is a true stand-up comic, and has handled hecklers before (though I doubt that he has ever been physically assaulted on stage before), and would have instantly come back with a rapid-fire delivery of four or five zingers that would have totally humiliated Will Smith.
If someone slaps me - even on stage, before millions of people - I would not go silent, then mutter a few half-hearted no-meaning words like, "This was the greatest NIGHT in Oscar history."
After Will Smith's SECOND "Don't put my wife's name in your f*ckin' mouth," Rock should have replied, "Jada Pinkett is a respected blah-blah-blah, and I'm sure that she understands that a Don-Rickles-type comic is only trying to go for a laugh blah-blah. Jada Pinkett is certainly BIG enough to take a harmless joke. Blah-blah. And I'm sure that Jada Pinkett will agree that kids at home who have seen this blah-blah..."
Do you think that Will Smith would have dared go up on the stage a second time?!
Regards,
Just because this publicity stunt may have FAILED - i.e., may have, ultimately, not produced the desired positive results - does not prove that it was NOT faked.
Regards,
What Will Smith did would be charged as a misdemeanor, not a felony...
I think LAPD does not want waste its time on this misdemeanor case if Chris Rock does not want Will Smith prosecuted...
A victim of battery has to ask for prosecution...I think that is a standard procedure in California...Maybe things are different in other states?
I do not think that LAPD is giving Will Smith a special treatment...
Yes, the incident was on TV...But, LAPD still has to interview Chris Rock...Chris Rock still has to be willing to testify in a trial...
LAPD and City Attorney will not try to force Chris Rock to cooperate in a prosecution against Will Smith...
Didn’t watch. Don’t care.
The communist Academy. Afraid of the Trump voter.
I really doubt it. Will’s wife Jada, also an actress, has autoimmune alopecia, and I doubt Chris Rock knew that. Maybe Will Smith was being overly protective of his wife, but I can’t imagine it being fake given the circumstances. It didn’t help anyone involved.
I’m not sure they would use Jada Pinckett Smiths Autoimmune alopecia to help the Oscar’s. I saw the unedited version—it looked real and was very awkward, not helpful.
Yep.
They read stuff someone else writes in front of a camera. If every actor disappeared tomorrow the world would barely notice.
