Chris Rock Declines to File Police Report After Will Smith Slap at Oscars, LAPD Says

The Los Angeles Police Department confirms to Variety that Chris Rock has “declined to file a police report” following an altercation with Will Smith at the 94th Academy Awards. Smith took to the stage during the 2022 Oscars and slapped Rock after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith.

pretty sure even the swearing was all staged too to ‘shock’ the audience- the two of them are laughing all the way to the bank over it-

The swearing especially makes it seem ‘real’ to me. These guys are old pros and wouldn’t do that on live TV unless they were in dire shape or mentally broken down.

I thought Smith looked like he’d kill himself on stage on his acceptance speech. If it was acting, he deserved an oscar just for that.

Jada Smith chose to shave her head because of loss of hair - however it's well known many black woman do so and wear lots of wigs. She doesn't have to advertise she has a hair loss problem.

Will reminded me of those in restaurants who feel disrespected because somebody forgot to put a pickle with their hamburger.

keep clicking on the 7 second mark and let it run through the slap- watch it over and over and you will see the fingers bent backwards- brushing the face- I’ve seen this same ‘slap’ over and over in movies- in slow motion- it’ very typical- it’s acting-

You can’t say it really, but that’s the most ‘real’ thing of it all. He was ‘fronted’ in public and was going to violently reacted. Same as 5000 chuck-e-cheese or golden corral vids.

Yeah, lots of online experts like you that’ll insist it’s fake or real based on whatever. It was a loud hit and everyone was shaken up at it. It’s possible it was a worked shoot, but really unlikely imo.

I agree with you. If a white actor had marched up on the stage and punched Rock, he would not only be charged but he’d also be branded as a racist.

Not staged - Wills arrogance walking back to his seat, further yelling to Rock “Keep my wife’s name out of your “Fu**ing Mouth” - Chris saying it was just a joke - and Will yelled it out again.

Will later crying saying he wants to be a light for his people - his behavior showed the nature of many black people. Who does he think he’s kidding.

It just doesn’t make sense though. Only reason would be for ratings, but I don’t think it helped. Usually the oscars don’t go out of their way to be controversial. It’s possible it was a work, but the reactions on all parts up to and after don’t make sense for it to be fake.

I do not think that it was fake...Not at all...

Academy of Motion Picture did release a statement after the show...The Academy made it clear that it did not approve of what Will Smith did...I find it hard to believe that Academy people wanted to generate people's interest this way...

Will Smith got very angry and could not control his emotions...I do not think that Will Smith and Chris Rock worked this out in advance...

No need to get nasty or personal- I’m not an expert- but I’ve seen these hollywood slaps over and over again- after the ‘fight’ on the gold show i posted about in the other thread- i took the time to view video slaps after seeing that fake fight- because it all looked and sounded so real- even i n the movies where there’s a thud that sounds like the person was hit- their reactions in the movies are the same as what you saw on the stage there- that’s’ why it’s called acting- because it makes it look real- if will is gonna cross the line because he’s so upset- i seriously doubt he’s gonna hollywood slap rock- IF he slaps, it’s gonna be with a rigged hand or even a full out punch- -

Both are equally assaults under the law unless you can prove it was pre-planned by both sides as a show. And that’s never going to happen, the MPAA is already doing damage control.
