I bought a manual can opener that doesn’t leave a sharp edge and love it. It cuts on the side and doesn’t cut if you touch it. It was about $8 about eight years ago, so probably more expensive now. It’s worth it.

We have one that cuts on the side of the can, too. It took me a long time to really get the hang of it, but I now like it a lot. Ours is probably about 8 years old, too.
Using the built-in gripper to get the lid off takes a bit of work, too.

My wife bought the "Pampered Chef"
Smooth-Edge Can Opener which I mentioned in an earlier post. It's a great tool, but YIKES is it expensive now! $44! It's very easy to operate.
