Yes, Vernon Jones had the wind at his back, picking up endorsements from people like Wendy Rogers, (R-AZ) and others in the spotlight at the time.
Then came Jones to the Stew Peters Show, where he was evicerated, excoriated and all but electricuted, totally Unprepared for the Peters broadside, on subjects like pandering, womanizing and political dealing. Stew came out firing, with what sounded like all of “the receipts” to back up his tirade.
Wendy Rogers and a half dozen other trench fighting conservatives immediately dropped their endorsements.
It seemed weeks before Vernon came up with a coherent defense of his behaviors and to assuage concerns of a few salty characters hanging not to far away.
I still don’t know up from down about the facts, or the future for Jones. His fall-out soon got lost in the huge build up of international chaos, now turned into a murderous crisis in UKR.
I read that Trump asked him to run for a different office and he agreed to do so. Is that right? 🤔

Yes that’s right. He had been running for Governor of Georgia against Kemp. Then Trump convinced Perdue to run for Governor after which Trump endorsed him (i.e. Perdue). To Jones’s credit, he never publicly badmouthed Trump about the decision. A few weeks later Trump convinced him to drop out of the Governor’s race and run for Congress instead, and Trump then endorsed him for that office. Jones was gracious enough to then endorse Perdue. He been a team player and shown a lot of class - in contrast to Herschel Walker.
