The Russian approach to “denazification” by driving around in columns hunting Ukrainians brings to mind Elmer Fudd hunting Bugs Bunny.
Its obvious though that all these columns had actual territorial objectives. To cut roads, seize bridges, take a town or city. These could not be reached, or held if reached, because it meant isolation and immobilization, death by a thousand cuts, and sometimes ended in an ambush. The Russians dont seem to be doing that anymore.
I think the worst outcome for Russia would be to get embroiled in an insurgent war, which is indeed a death by a thousand cuts. Such wars are generally not winnable if the occupied people are dedicated and resourceful.
