Does the evil owners of YouTube, I think that’s Google, realize that Rumble and other content providers WILL be carrying the rally? Apparently they don’t care. It’s all about them.

They really do think they own the world. It’s a mindset at Google. Google is a very strange place, even for a software quality assurance engineer job they put their potential hirelings through pure hell.

So I’m a test automation dude. I write a programs to do automated testing of a website from the user’s perspective (Selenium and your favorite language, mine is currently Java). It’s really cool stuff. I could likely automate my posts here. LOL! I also do back end API automation, that’s my favorite stuff.

Anyway...to write such code you are not breaking the bleeding edge of Java. It’s really simple, it ain’t rocket science. But companies like Google will expect you, as a software QA engineer, having anything to do with automation, to be able to write programs without any access to the internet and ask you to write code for things you never would have to.

Well, I’m sorry Google. I have the internet when I’m doing my job. And I did my job before said internet ever existed. We had a private internet.

Furthermore, test me on QA stuff. I’m a QA engineer that happens to write code. I’m not a software developer in test. That means I’m a software developer who has no idea how to test stuff. It’s not supposed to work that way.

The company I work for is not Google. They’re not that stupid. And they just dropped all their COVID requirements for coming into the office. I’m still working remotely. Boston is expensive to commute to. Maybe once a month just to keep myself sharp.
