Having been through the hell of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome myself, I’m not really sure what you are saying about mitochondria not being able to rest. Unless you are referring to the early part of a mitochondrial syndrome where stress has induced thyroid and adrenal dysregulation (because these hormones are trying to fill in the energy space where mitos have become depleted) and you cannot sleep, which in turn puts even more stress on the mitochondria…. either way, when eventually the energy-failure cascade happens (mitos fail + thyroid fails + adrenals fail), you will experience a fatigue that most people cannot even imagine. It goes beyond being “bone tired.” I would describe it as being “soul tired.” There were times when I went to bed hoping to not wake up. In my experience with CFS and mitochondrial syndrome, it’s not that you cannot rest, it’s that you cannot wake up. You cannot stand, you cannot walk… just getting up and taking a shower takes an extraordinary effort, after which you are required to lay down and sleep again. I would fall asleep in meetings and at stop lights.
A mitochondrial failure cascade will eventually lead to major organ failure. Pancreas, liver, heart.. take your pick. These little “battery packs” are VITAL to your health. So vital, in fact, that you could trace just about any disease cascade back to mitochondria. You receive mitos from your birth mother… so if your mother already has problems in the mitochondria, it’s going to transfer to her baby and that child will start life a step behind as far as health and longevity.

I highly recommend researching the work of Dr. Sarah Myhill. She wrote a book that I found online in Wiki version in 2011 and she basically saved my life. Of course, the National Health System in England tried to kick her out of medicine for a while and suspended her medical license, so if you come across that in your research, know that it came directly from the government controllers and Big Pharma. She is now reinstated and her book is available on Amazon. Title: “Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Fatigue and Myalgic Encephalitis: It’s Mitochondria, not Hypochondria.” For me, starting on D-Ribose, NAC and Acetyl L-Carnitine provided such relief that I was able to get a start towards healing and begin the rest of her protocol, which is complex and intense, but works.

There is a really great interview with her on YouTube where she covers basically the whole theory and recovery tactics. She is from the Shires and her accent is thick and she speaks really fast, but the info is excellent and she goes deep into the mitochondrial processes. https://youtu.be/efw2zFONk6I Also, many others have joined in on her research, so just searching “Mitochondria and Fatigue” on YouTube will bring up tons of good information.

Thanks very much, ponygirl.
Bkmk for more research.

I’ve heard great success stories from people who started “grounding” when in comes to CFS and Fibromyalgia. Take yer shoes off and walk barefooted. The shoes you wear (unless they are leather soled) block the charge from the earth.
