Hate to think about it, but I wonder if the kid drove into the van on purpose. The article said that they believe the right front tire (a spare tire replacement) blew out before the accident. I.e., the tire blow out probably caused the truck to go out of control (and they probably were driving too fast using a spare). A very accident prone lad...
