Did we create 3 million (soon to be 5 million) refugees fleeing from Iraq?
We were VERY gentle with the Iraqi general population.
As far as “amazing” goes, where have you been? Handled poorly, this is either a possible (5% chance?) existential threat in the short term, or a sure fire existential threat in the long term. Multiple ways to get to that latter, too.
A VERY conservative estimate of Iraqi civilians dead as a result of the US invasion is just over 200,000. But since the methods and effort of record-keeping are poor, the number is likely much higher. As for refugees from Iraq...well....do you really want to argue that there were small numbers of refugees? Bottom line: there’s just too much shameless propaganda about how the US fights war “cleanly” but everyone else gets kicks out of bombing children.
As for the “existential threat”...are you saying the Ukraine invasion is a “sure fire” existential threat to the US in distant future? I’d say the Neo-Cons have certainly got you paranoid if that’s what you think.
