I was never a Grateful Dead fan despite having turned 18 in 1965, or knew much about Jerry Garcia, but his comment is right on. Thanks for sharing it.

That's cool. Me I've been a big Dead fan since I first saw them at the old Fillmore East in NYC.

Most folks don't know but back in their day, I'm talking the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s the Dead did a lot of charity work for homeless vets, autistic kids and helping young talented musicians who had various musical styles get started by providing financial assistance, Yeah they were derided as a ''hippy drug band(like any other rockers never did drugs, right?) They did a lot of giving back and were always careful not to be showy about it. They're attitude was ''just do it'',
