Most folks don't know but back in their day, I'm talking the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s the Dead did a lot of charity work for homeless vets, autistic kids and helping young talented musicians who had various musical styles get started by providing financial assistance, Yeah they were derided as a ''hippy drug band(like any other rockers never did drugs, right?) They did a lot of giving back and were always careful not to be showy about it. They're attitude was ''just do it'',
