When I get off work on the Friday before, I go ahead and set my clocks ahead or back. That gives me the entire weekend to roll into the time change. If I waited until Sunday I’d have trouble on Monday Morning.

It can make a big difference whether you are working a job or on your own schedules. My partner and I are both over 75. We are naturally what is known as “night people.” However, he is now babysitting his new grandson once a week, 20 miles away from where we live.

He has been forced to change his sleep cycle, but I have not. we miss our 11 pm news reports together, and Saturday Night Live. He has to go to their house the evening before and get up at 6:30 to babysit from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm. On his first babysit after daylight savings started, he forgot to take his vitamins for 2 days, and came back home that evening absolutely exhausted and with an episode of tackycardia. First one in over a year. I on the other hand sleep when I want and get up when I want, and feel fine, and am gradually shifting to later wake up relative time. I so, so look forward to the extra hour of relative time in an urban setting. I am afraid to go shopping after dark. I can see where in a farm setting it might be more disruptive.
