Agreed. If I was single (read: had only one car) I wouldn't consider an EV. But since I'm married and my wife and I need two cars between us, I'm thinking hard about getting an EV and keeping a gas car (having the best of both worlds).
A hybrid is a much more reasonable, much more practical choice for a small two-person car.
NOT a full-EV-Only toy.
Honda and others have plug in hybrids. If I were so inclined, I would go with that.

Having the gas car will allow you to take trips beyond the range of your EV. That way you won’t have to charge up at hefty rates and wasting valuable time at some unplanned location.
