It's an excellent interview and video. Lots of excitement and descriptions that really go to the heart of Purim, of enduring against all odds... a true story of amazing survival that is

capturing the world's attention at this very time.

The particular scene in the photo below appears a few times in the video and other reports. It jumped out at me for the bright crown on the bow. Even better, is that the last place in the video it appears is in the few seconds including 6:20 (keter כתר).

And then I went to look up sea anenomes and discovered that the Hebrew is שושנות ים, shoshnot yam, sea roses (cf. a compass rose, the rose of the winds).

Sea anenomes = 1112, the same as the famous and wildly appropriate Yiddish proverb,

Man plans and God laughs:

(In "Shushan", no less.)

I suppose somebody might get picky and point out that the page title is plural, not a singular sea anenome שושנת ים which is "shoshanat yam" with a value of 1106.

Right. Okay. Now a funny thing -- yesterday before learning of the Endurance news, I was reading chapter 4 of Pirkei Avot, for an important reason seemingly unrelated to the Endurance storyline that I was not aware of at the time. I was focused on this place in verse 13:

Rabbi Shimon would say: There are three crowns -- the crown of Torah, the crown of priesthood and the crown of sovereignty -- but the crown of good name surmounts them all.
שִׁמְעוֹן אוֹמֵר, שְׁלֹשָׁה כְתָרִים הֵן: כֶּֽתֶר תּוֹרָה, וְכֶֽתֶר כְּהֻנָּה, וְכֶֽתֶר מַלְכוּת, וְכֶֽתֶר שֵׁם טוֹב עוֹלֶה עַל גַּבֵּיהֶן.

As for the single anenome in the photo, 1106, and the plural of the four crowns I had been reading up on yesterday.

The last four words of the Torah, "Moses in the sight (eyes) of all Israel":

משה לעיני כל־ישראל

= 1106

I always wander across the best stuff -- top shelf -- so like Popeye, I'll just continue to be what I yam.

Looks like a flipped-over story as told by those sea roses, the roses of the winds (currents) of the sea.

As for that “entanglement” presentation, it has always kind of bugged me because in order for the instantaneous exchange of information on either end without interaction, the premise is that both parties already knew what was on the other side.
