Apparently it’s more the number of drinks added in a day that is exponentially damaging rather than the length of time per se. So when you go from abstention to half a beer it isn’t so bad but from half to one, 2 years damage. Two to three, 3.5 years etc. In other words there may be safe amounts but basically the less the better.

Sorry, too complicated for me to understand. So give it to me straight: Are you saying that I have to cut back on my half a crate of beer a day?

And what about my 103-year-old grandfather? What should I tell him? That he isn't supposed to drink his fifth of bourbon per day anymore? And all his loose broads? I suppose you're telling me that has to give them up, too?

Ha ! Bourbon has got to be the exception. At least the true form is sugar/carb free. It may even be keto friendly...
