In addition to storing 6 months worth of Food Supplies and having plenty of ammunition I have an 18 month supply of my heart medicine. We live in a small town about 12,000 people which is in a County of about 50,000. I have no bug out plans. I’m 70 years old, we are going to make it here or we are not.
One of the things that frustrates me are the items that simply cannot be stored long-term. Bleach for example.
Interesting thing to try and understand here is that if things go that far sideways, you have to realize that no matter what you do there are far more things that will go wrong than right. It’s the nature of the universe. There is no substitute for good luck as a portion of your prepping.
Good post—the perfect is the enemy of the good.
You do what you can—and then relax.
You can purchase shock tablets, at pool supply stores.
These can be chipped off/powdered, to make a gal of bleach, at a time.
They have to be stored in glass mason jars, with plastic screw tops, after opening ea tablet, though.
Buy ‘bleach’ this way:
Powdered sodium hypochlorite.
Buy pool shock.
Basically the same thing and very stable.
