Regarding Scooby, I’m in the electric power industry, and worked nights the last 3 nights. No word on our desk of increased activity regarding attempts at cyber attacks, but I’m most certain that they’re happening all the time. If there’s an uptick in that activity, the IT people haven’t said a word to those of us that run the power system.
All our stuff is working normal at this point in time. Keep in mind that there are a lot of layers of protection and firewalls between our systems and the rest of the world. Not impervious, but pretty strong protection. I’m sure that Alabama Power is doing similar.

Question. Why is the controls of the electric power connected to the net? I can understand monitoring them. But the controls on the net? Why?
