I was raised to deeply fear Russia as they would come and kill us. Then I met a person from Russia who was about my same age and in discussions they told me that as a child they also thought we were coming to kill them. Seems both sides in power promoted fear to control.
Actually, I believe it's a requirement in NJ. It used to be the case in NYC but I've noticed a new generation has emerged that doesn't appreciate or expect a complete stranger to engage them even if they are in the same situation, like being on line at the post office or the supermarket or even witnessing a car accident.
I blame technology.
Thanks much for the update!
I’m glad that you and your aunt are doing well, and feeling better.
The estate thing - we were very fortunate that my brother in law took care of a lot of that when my mother passed away. She was horrible at keeping records, and there was a decided change in how things were done after my father passed back in 2007. He was very methodical about such things, while she was kind of “hit or miss”. At any rate, the lack of a will, and some things having obsolete beneficiary information made it very difficult. Now, mom didn’t pass with a lot in her possession. She and Dad had used up a good portion of his 401K/savings and was living off the survivor’s benefits of his pension and social security. Anyway, the lack of estate planning made things difficult for us and I am forever thankful that my brother in law took care of much of it. Lots of running around for him, and some legal assistance, but he got through it. And you will too.
Going through the “stuff” is a difficult task. I went through a little of my mother’s things, but I wasn’t all that helpful since I live and work in Tennessee and everyone else is in Florida, outside of my half sister who is living in Texas. I don’t know if you have other siblings or not, but divvying things up should be pretty cut and dried - without an updated will, equal value should be the rule outside of specific items that one or another favors.
Good will is a great place to take things - I’ve been trying to declutter myself and have donated a ton of stuff. Unfortunately, it seems that my intake of “stuff” exceeds my removal so I’m still cluttered up.
There’s no hurry here - if there are any deadlines, the attorney should be able to make them known so that you can prioritize and get those particular tasks done. But otherwise, just gradually taking care of things is a good approach.
I’m glad that your aunt is feeling better too. It puts a lot on your shoulders when you’re working, trying to deal with the estate, and keeping tabs on your aunt. It wouldn’t be a bad thing if she got involved a little bit in helping deal with the house. Not a lot - no need to overload her, but I bet she’d feel good about helping.
And don’t let yourself feel guilty about the “would have, could have, should have” things regarding your father. Reflect on the good times and realize that we can’t 100% be the guardian of others - you did well with your dad and enjoyed your time with him and that is what matters. That said, I regret that I didn’t bond with my father more closely. We did Ok, but he and I were both cantankerous, stubborn mules who could not agree on a direction at times. But he was dad.
My sister and brother in law were kind enough, after the passing of my dad, to take in my mother and brother (he was partially handicapped and really couldn’t live on his own) in to live with them. They had a particularly large house at the time and were able to set things up so that my mother and brother had 2 of the upstairs bedrooms and their own family room of sorts. Meals were done as a whole family. We even installed a chair lift for my brother to ease his access to the upstairs area. My mother used to use it to take the laundry basket upstairs. :)
Again, thanks for the update. Take care.
I agree with your statement that it changes as one gets older. I took the test twice in past years and the results were different.
But about 20 years ago, I had an interview with a leader of a company. She didn’t hire me. I had another interview in a different area (same city) and was hired. Interviewer #1 told Interviewer #2 later that she thought I wouldn’t be a team player. She was right...’cause I turned #2 in for fraud. The “team” were crooks.
After that, I was black-balled and left the company. Good riddance. The only thing I regret is that she and her superior weren’t prosecuted. She quit. He was relocated to another part of the state.
My conclusion related to such tests is this: discernment is often more productive than “so-called” science. But then again, discernment is as rare as common sense these days.
Interesting take on the intro/extro thing.
I’m kind of introverted myself, though I can play the extrovert role. Tend to keep to myself about personal things, but I’m always willing to chat and discuss more familiar, non-personal topics with others.
Interesting that you’ve had trouble with people in Ohio - I’ve always found that state to be friendly, but then again, I’m from Ohio so maybe that’s just a reflection of the way I was brought up. Of course, Ohio is a big place - I grew up near Cleveland and can easily relate to the factory/blue collar type people. I might have a different experience around Columbus (go Buckeyes) or Cincinnati, or the vast farmlands between.
Probably my biggest obstacle to being comfortable with others is my uncanny ability to find the most abrasive way to say something - and then use it. Some rough first impressions I’ve left out there over the years. Then again, sometimes, that quick statement is even funny, as intended. The brain works in mysterious ways.
I visit the state every year, usually 2 times a year (and have a trip planned for early May of this year) to visit my old homies from the hood. Always enjoy the trips.
Like you I was pretty much informed but this documentary pulled in any threads nice and tight.
It is no wonder that Stones work has been banned and attacked by the left. Unfortunately the American people don’t want to believe what is obvious to us and others. It’s getting harder for them to be in denial. However their willful blindness may very well remain in place with the controls we are seeing now in media and social networks.
I got ESPN. :)
“Ukraine State Emergency Services” seems to be an entirely propaganda network supplying #FakeNews

Right.
When was the last time you saw or read anything about the freedom truck convoy in DC?
Start around the 34 minute mark and listen for awhile.
THE TRUTH-TRUTHER SHOW... TIME-ING IS EVERYTHING!!! 02.27.2022 - YouTube
They supress anything which isn’t in line with their ‘stories’ - Paski sounds like she’s reading a storybook to a room full of children at the press briefings.
My problem with Meyers-Briggs is that I'm always tempted to answer with what want to be rather than what I am.
That said, I'm an INTJ transitioning to INFP. Over the years I have migrated somewhat from "thinking" to "feeling", and from "judging" to "perceiving".
Knock it off, Farce. Where did I flame anyone or any religion?? I was talking to HarleyLady27 anyway. I never said anything disparaging about the Mormon religion or the Mormon people.
I WAS however suggesting a really interesting book, written by a Mormon.
Why so butthurt??
I grew up Nazarene... if someone said something really rude about my religion, I’d laugh. It’s probably true anyway.

You assume I took the MB honestly each time. That is not true for any of them.
It depended on my employer’s needs of me, each time.
If you have a vehicle that runs on E85 (an alcohol/gasoline mixture which is between 51 and 83 percent corn ethanol) you could make up to 100 gallons of motive fuel for ever 15 gallons of non alcohol cut gasoline you can store. That quantity will be a bit less if your base available gasoline stock is only E10 or E15 blends (but you have to manage those types tighter for degradation).
At the base, the alcohol could be made/home distilled, but denatured camp stove and/or paint thinning ethanol or pharmaceutical or chemical supply ethanol can be used.
Additionally, I conducted an experiment on one of my older single cylinder engines with a full tank of E85 and choked, it ran fine for nearly a whole tank.
The stoichiometric mixture ratio on engines is approximately 14 to 1 for gasoline and 9-1 for alcohol. The issue with running small 4 stroke engines on E85 is that the jet which meters the fuel in is to small to let enough of a charge in for usual operation. The general “do it right” way is to either drill out the jet(s) or have a spare carburetor with the proper sizings for alcohol.
In a pinch though, you can run something with the choke manually adjusted to provide the richer mixture. I’d suggest at low or end of run though that some pure gasoline be added to clear the water attracting alcohol out of the system and also this will keep it from affecting potentially low/incompatible gasket materials...
Ok many thanks!
I don’t follow any of those guys (Juan O’savin, Simon Parkes, Charlie ward )
Wrong ways? Yeah we get the same thing hereabouts. It’s cell phones, texting, GPS stupidity, and sometimes likker or pills. We kill about one a week on perfectly straight highways because a genius will text his way into a Peterbuilt. Had one nearly in front of the house. Gal’s cell phone started humming, reached down to answers it , drove off the road into a tree. Phone was still ringtoning when they scraped her up. Civilization has gone past what most folks can handle.
LOL good one !!
Other than here on FR I’ve never heard of NESARA and GESARA .
