"We show that, by illuminating the horizon, or horizons, with appropriately chosen quantum states, one can amplify the production of entanglement in Hawking's process in a tunable manner," said Associate Professor Ivan Agullo. "As an example, we apply these ideas to the concrete case of a pair of analog white-black holes sharing an interior and produced within a non-linear optical material."

BenLurkin, can you add me back to your ping list?
I seem to have fallen off.
Thanks!

This is nothing but more psycho-babble...
The moment you say that “we believe”, you are now entering religion and not science...

Am forwarding your request to Mr. Civ who keeps the string theory list.
Unless you mean the “Ping Me When the Internet Goes Down” ping list, in which case you will be the inagural member.

Quantum Entanglement? I wonder if Stormy would go for some of that.

Entanglelment sure ok cool
Ftl ansibles or something.
Not so sure we should be messing with event horizons on earth.
Black holes do stuff to matter

The beauty of making a black hole on the earth is that nobody will complain about it, and the funding will automatically dry up.

Gotta power the turbo-encabulator somehow. Maybe quantum mechanically entangle it with a reverse-turbo-encabulator, to produce an analog gravity system-based, dual counter-rotating perpetual motion encabulator...

The Founding Fathers warned us to avoid foreign entanglements, seems quantum entanglements should be avoided too.

Sometimes it seems as if Hawking is treated as the 2nd coming of Abraham coming down from the mount with a stone tablet...
The difference being that the stone tablet contained irrefutable truths that have withstood the experimental data for more than two thousand years...
Hawking’s work was brilliant, only time will tell if it contained irrefutable truths... At this point in time, there are no data to support it...
Although one should not be too skeptical... Take the Higgs boson for example... About 50-years proposed and chased until it became an irrefutable truth...
Even longer time required for the fermentation of those “black holes”...
In the meantime, if you want to get funding, mention that you are chasing Hawking’s theory...
Take a trip to the nearest black hole and collect data from both sides of the Schwarzchild radius... Return and publish the findings in Physical Review Letters...
Until then, we still have that danged hockey stick to contend with...
