I save money by going straight to the "dead table" at Lowe's and Home Depot. It's amazing what I've been able to save. The entire garden at my workplace was made up of these plants that were not taken care of. Not happy about the price increases, though - everything used to be a dollar, not that long ago, now it's up to $4.00-8.00. Still, a good deal.

My first roses are coming in - this is my best bloomer, it's over 30 years old and still performing magnificently.

Thanks for the early flower pictures. Snow still melting here in Michigan.

Does anyone know about cutting back lavender? Ours was green all winter now looking grey. Our first year so I could use some advice thanks.

We had Perfume Delight (bought it at Harry & David’s/Jackson & Perkins) when we lived in Oregon, and loved it.

H&D’s was about 25 miles from us at the time, and the 2 shared a campus...then they got bought out & split up. :-(

Not long after that, we sold & came to South Dakota. Most of the J&P iris we brought here have died out, except for some very hardy types.

As for roses, we have some huge, decades old, yellow Pioneer Roses, and lots of small, indigenous, wild roses; some white, but mostly pinks & reds.
