The depth of Shrub’s evil increases by the day.
Why not? FDR and Churchill did the same with Stalin. What kind of alliance, though, is the question. Taiwan is too steep a price to pay. Militarily, two nuclear powers do not dare duke it out. Three is even worse. So what can the US offer China? If Putin is too engrossed with his misadventure in Ukraine, Xi might just take advantage and grab Siberia. But then the question is, what atrocities will he commit against the Siberians, who are probably just as compelling a people as the Ukrainians, maybe more so. So for all practical purposes, there’s no basis for an alliance with China.
What Stalin took at the end of the war was bad enough. Repeating the same mistake again would be unforgivable.
So I’ll second your assessment of Shrub’s evil-ness.
