The stated reason is never the real reason that an action like this is done.
I certainly have no idea of who’s right, who’s evil, etc. when it comes to this situation.
There are plenty of bad actors and glory seekers, and money grabbers all around on this and no side of this conflict has clean hands. They all deserve each other.
Both are evil. And contrary to what the brainwashing propaganda says, it is absolutely OK to not support EITHER ONE. It is evil destroying evil. Since when do we have to pick a side that is still evil because someone tells us we have to?
