I grew up Presbyterian. We have lived in VA, FL, back to VA, WV, and AL, and have attended many Ash Wednesday services (Presbyterian, Methodist, Episcopal) where the ashes were placed on our foreheads.
From a humorous aspect of the Lenten season, my husband has always stated that he gives up celibacy for Lent.😉
