I dunno how relevant this is, but yesterday afternoon I fired up YouTube to see if anyone was live streaming from Ukraine like was done in Ottawa recently.

I found several streams, all of fixed cameras in Kiev and a few other cities. All showed nothing untoward, just a quiet evening with no signs of violence or war.

Very different from what we hear. Not that that is a surprise.

I've been watching those cams for several days. They are live but you can scroll backwards thru time. have yet to see any smoke or emergency vehicles running around.

Instead, I see light traffic and even people with their children strolling around or playing.

In my experience, war is mostly long periods of unpleasant tedium punctuated by occasional moments of stark terror and adrenaline spikes.
