Basically, the CCP controlled media supported the Russians in this invasion, prompting all sort of comments on Chinese social media mocking the Ukrainians and supporting Russia. All this got reported on Ukrainian social media, so now Ukrainians are treating Chinese living in Ukraine as persona non grata.

The conflict is hotly debated on Chinese social media, with some internet users sympathetic towards the plight of Ukrainians and others mocking the conflict and cheering on Russia's aggression.
