Russia's defense ministry said this morning it had destroyed a large underground depot for missiles and aircraft ammunition in Ukraine's Ivano-Frankivsk region using Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.

The first confirmed use in Ukraine of the Russian ground-based cruise missile 9M728 (R-500) of the Iskander complex was during the destruction of two buildings in the town of Merefa in the Kharkiv region. According to official Ukrainian figures, 21 people died and 25 were injured as a result of the strike. Amir Tsarfati At least 40 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in a bomb blast near a Russian military base in the southern city of Mykolaiv, according to local media reports. According to Mayor Oleksandr Sankovich, several villages near Mykolaiv have been occupied by the Russian army.
