She was not alone when she did the crime. Plus this was not exactly Maybeline cosmetics.
I bought a small container of eye shadow, about the size of a quarter coin, at that place and it cost $9. Wouldn't take much volume of $12 lipsticks, $15 compacts, etc. to rack up quite a haul to resell on eBay or in her neighborhood.
These brazen thieves come in with a sack and sweep whole counters full into the bag and sashay out the door, since the security guards aren't armed and the clerks aren't allowed to apprehend them.
Once when I was in a fabric store, I saw a woman (hiding in the back section) lift her burka, wrap an entire bolt of expensive fabric around her midsection, drop the burka over it and walk out. Guard couldn't do a thing.
