I suspect he got a call from WEF to back it off because it was exposing the potential abuse of power of the world Digital ID that they’re pushing. Well, now, people can see for themselves what the end result might, could, would be and should want no part of it.
I suspect the same. Only this one has an even more fundamental factor - I don't recall whether it was the Ottowa mayor or Chrystia Freeland who said it, but one of them claimed that they were going after the listed donors and freezing their accounts as well. The upshot was that quite a lot of people decided to find out whether their own accounts had been frozen, hit the online banking all at once, and thoroughly clogged the servers. That wasn't a hack and it wasn't a DDOS, it was simply a panic brought on by stupid statements from vindictive people that weren't even true (but that might be in the future). The banks, for their part, had to remind Trudeau and his people that if you freeze people's accounts they can't make payments on mortgage loans, business loans, and truck and auto loans, and the lenders, i.e. the banks, take the hit. So yeah, a little call to the WEF and Trudeau ended up looking like a dog who found the end of the leash at a dead run. Ouch.
