We know from first hand reports that the Donbass area of the Ukraine,near the Russian border, has been under attack since 2014. I don't mean just any attack but a brutal attack where they used phosphorus,all kinds of heavy weapons,machine guns, you name it on the population.
The Ukrainian forces mined the graveyard in the region so locals could not even bury their dead.Now who does that!!
Over 60k have left the area for safety in Russia and leaders in the area have been asking Russia to intervene for some time.
Its likely Putin wants to secure the area,do I know his ultimate goals,hardly I doubt anyone does.
So its apparent the Ukrainian govt. forces have waged war on what should have been their own citizens for years. Typical screwed up situation.
The bigger question here is will Putin do more than just secure the Donbass region or not,we shall see.
My latest theory:
Putin is working with TtT to discredit Biden and the Ukraine... the price for his help? Those areas of the Ukraine. Remember it’s the art of the DEAL.
I’m watching pretty closely from those on the ground as well as various reports on both sides over there. Pretty hot in places in Donbass and Ukraines got their troops basically planted on the border areas to prevent Russian troops from going further inland.
There’s some nasty characters also operating there besides Russia and Ukraine military. If Putin can rid the area of these neocon groups only then will there be any cease fire that’s enduring.
Ukrainians are often fighting each other....not unusual for them to have heated conflicts among their Oligarchs and others like them....they’re territorial by nature. Rather like tribal conflicts that were seen in Aphganistan.....US tried and did make deals with them during Maidan but there’s always a new leader who steps up.
I seem to recall around the change from Obama to Trump it was said Ukraine had no weapons and US was only sending something that was not for defense but blankets or some such. Suddenly Ukraine has a full blown military aligned on the border region. Something janky about all that business and what we are told versus reality. At this point I trust Putin more than the Ukraine hawks.
