People don’t realize it, but the internet isn’t magic. It’s hard work.
I want to be critical too. Trump is a do-er and a winner. In my mind, his endeavor should have been preparing for high level demand. In fact, that’s what you want. Better than the alternative.
But this isn’t a computer in someone’s basement. It’s about linking data centers, DNS routing, load balancing, DDoS protection, and I could be wrong, but I would imagine that if your in Trumps sphere and you have some healthy paranoia, you don’t just hire ‘experts’ from silicon valley without vetting them, and you’re gearing your systems up for attacks. Attacks from foreign actors, attacks from opportunists, being subverted by the deep state actors, and making rivals out of silicon valley king pins. Interestingly, a lot of those may be linked.
That’s right, I think they wanted to release something on Presidents Day, if nothing more than to gauge interest in the product.
When it’s fully ready, you will get notified.
It’s not like we are all sitting on the edge of our seats waiting for a new social media site to launch.
“Launching a new system takes time.”
No it doesn’t, that is a myth. Someone is milking this for overtime. I could put up a site just like facebook or Twitter, have it fully online for registration, and be fine tuning as it is being used in just an hour.
Self hosted capacity is the only thing that takes any time. And they have already had plenty enough time to do that.
Like I say, someone is milking the heck out of this project.
