I’d never shed a tear for any low life scum druggie who died. Unfortunately, they leave a wake of innocent people behind.

IMHO the war on drugs combined with the welfare state are a horrible combination. The welfare state misleads people into thinking that tearing yourself up won't lead to horrible consequences: the welfare state will give you a place to stay and food to eat. It basically disincentivizes personal responsibility -- including drug habits. Before the welfare state there were people who'd get addicted to cocaine or alcohol or pot. But for the most part they didn't let themselves get too into it. Many were what we'd call "functional alcoholics" or "functional cocaine users" because they were afraid there'd be nobody to rescue them from the gutter if they let themselves get too deep into it.

The War on Drugs and government welfare programs are interdependent. Libtard governments give lots of welfare to addicts and the sainted homeless (but then I repeat myself) which does nothing but promote their useless lifestyle (”safe injection sites”, homeless housing, etc.). Typical bureaucratic schizophrenia to denounce some behaviors and then reward people for practicing them.
