I went to elemtaryschool in the 1960s and high school in 70s.
I remember them bringing in games that constantly predicted shortages of food and energy. I specifically remember one where where headed off food shortage (for a while) by cutting medical care so more of the little aliens (forget what they were called) would die.
There was another one predicted energy shortages no matter what you did. The games were fun and we enjoyed playing them (despite their no-win scenario nature). But after we were done, we went back to school work and mostly forgot about them.
But If someone like me can undergo that sort of brainwashing and turn out properly cynical about government and environmentalism, then they can, too.
yeah, i remember a game where we would place overlays of the disasters that would befall us, and yes, every time we would try something, it would fail... unlike the models of today.
