You’re right about the one week deadline. Castreau has until Monday night to have the Parliamentary vote. He invoked the Act on Monday, February 14. (Happy Valentines Day Canada! I love you all! Well except you truckers and your filthy freedom-loving supporters.)
I’ve been writing to everyone I can think of to have this stopped. I even wrote to Jagmeet Singh, the leader of the NDP. He’s a Sikh and I appealed to his religion’s primary tenet that “Truth is the highest virtue, but higher still is truthful living.” (Guru Nanak, founder) I suggested that he was betraying his own beliefs by siding with castreau to perpetuate the lie that this was not a peaceful protest and I implored him to return to grace by overturning the invocation.
If use of the Emergencies Act is ended, it remains to be seen what happens next. Does that in itself constitute non-confidence? I have work to do to learn about the implications of castreau’s failure to win support of this extraordinary measure. If its use is ended or unsupported, can the protesters begin to gather again without fear of having their financial instruments and vehicles confiscated? I’ll be going to Ottawa for certain if so.
Thank you for your analysis, and correction that Castreaux has until Monday for the vote. They better vote against it!! He is a bad Sikh if he votes for tyranny for sure. What are principles of not acted on, worthless - good you found that quote.
