• If his coalition in the Commons falls apart, and he is on the receiving end of a vote of no confidence;
• Or if the Governor-General fires him, prorogues Parliament and calls for a new election.

Canada’s political system is baffling; seems similar to the UK and Israel. Who/what is the Governor-General? Canada apparently has two houses of legislature/Parliament, I really know very little about this. Commons is the lower hours, what is the upper house?
