For the politicians, yes, but I think the debates moved some of the public opinion to the freedom side, and the rest of the world got to see them as well. There’s considerable shock that the vote went the way it did, which suggests that people in and outside of Canada who saw the debates concluded that invocation of the Emergencies Act was not appropriate. I see the term “heavy-handed being used a lot, and then there’s the condemnation from Iran. Even oppressors see this as being overly oppressive.
There are many people who think in the next election the NDP is going to suffer its worst outcome since 1993 when they won only 9 seats. They currently have 25. They’re supposed to be the workers’ party and they abandoned them for the illusion of power. We’re all beyond disgusted with them more than anyone.
