Cant imagine his estate really needs the money from the Amazon vultures to allow such a travesty, but hey on the other side they arent licensing out the Silmarillion material so this is all the Middle Earth programming the audience is gonna get.
I just watched a video on the whole Amazon thing. So yeah, they didn’t get the rights to the Silmarillion. Only the the Hobbit, LotR and it’s appendicies. For THAT much money? Hello? McFly? [shakes head]
